When you see Nancy Halvorsen’s name, you know there is fun in store. With each collection, she includes loads of project ideas and photos. Better Not Pout is no exception! We asked Nancy to tell us a bit more about the collection - here is what she had to say:
The "Better Not Pout" collection by Nancy Halvorsen
B: What inspired the Better Not Pout collection? NH: Anyone who is familiar with my fabrics and books knows that I have a special love of Christmas and decorating for the holiday. I have a family room in my home that is decorated for Christmas year round. I love Christmas as a special time to celebrate with family and friends. The main fabric design in this line is a Christmas village and emphasizes the joy of celebrating together as family, friends and a quilting community. To me Christmas is exciting and fun, you just can’t pout!

B: Can you tell us more about those adorable Stocking Panels? NH: I designed the stocking panels to be a quick and easy way to make some adorable Christmas stockings that look like they are made with appliqué and detailed piecing. All you need to do is add some quilting to complete the look. Of course I had to include some quick stockings for the fur babies in your family.
B: How did you select your color palette? NH: I chose the color palette as a look back to the colors of some of my previous Christmas fabric lines, but still keeping it new. I love this transition that blends the color looks together.
B: What are your favorite fabrics in the collection? NH: I can never answer this question. It's like asking which child is your favorite. All of the pieces in this line have a reason and purpose, whether they are for color, texture or blender fabrics. You really need all of them to make a quilt design work.
