what does the price of $15 per shirt include?
the price includes everything except the t shirts you send...unless you request the extra options
what is everything?
it includes the quilt back, batting, sashing, dense quilting and binding to finish the edge
extra borders to increase the quilt size or add to the design can be added for a fee based on the size of the quilt
how is the quilting done?
we use professional longarm machines and stitch a fairly dense non-gendered pattern
why is quilting better than tying the quilt?
tied quilts allow the batting to migrate when washed
this will cause deterioration of the quilt...dense quilting ensures that your quilt will survive much love
what kind of fabric is used for the back and sashing?
we use top quality 100% quilting fabric in nearly solid colors...we call the variation in color tone on tone
how many t shirts are used?
the following numbers work best to form rows and columns for t shirt quilts: 12, 16, 20, 25, 30 & 36.
can other shirts or clothing be use?
you can use other clothing, sweat shirts, pants, aprons etc.
it works best to contact us with your specific requests
we love to suit your needs when we know what they are
do you use the front or back of a t shirt?
we use the larger graphic unless you tell us otherwise
we can use both sides if you like
can I choose my own backing fabric?
yes, tell us on the form and we will contact you with the amount we need
can you use other shirt parts?
we can use any part of the shirt
we charge a fee to combine fabric to make the block 12" - 14" (see inset photo)
this is a good way to use 4 smaller t shirt parts like an arm or pocket
a pieced block will be $3 extra per seam (see inset photo)
how long does it take?
plan on 4-6 weeks
remember that Christmas and graduation are busy times..so plan ahead
who chooses the colors and placement of each t shirt?
we welcome you to make those choices
there is a place on the form to let us know your preferences
if you prefer we will use our best judgment based on the t shirts you send
can shirts with little holes be used?
yes, we add a stabilizer to the back to prevent further deterioration
sometimes stains and holes can personalize your quilt
what happens with the parts of shirt not used?
we donate them to a not-for-profit that uses various fabrics
if you want them to be returned, request it please
how do I pay the balance?
we accept visa and mastercard....if you prefer you may mail a check
we will send you an invoice via email with a photo of the finished quilt
